The quartet will perform their programme at the Buxton International Festival consisting of Sally Beamish’s Quartet ‘Opus California’ at the Highgate Festival. This is in a quest to promote more female composers. Corran is pairing this with Beethoven op. 18 no.4 alongside some Caroline Shaw as encore.
In 2021 they were chosen as Buxton International Festival’s Inaugural Chamber Ensemble 2021, Britten Pears Young Artist Programme, and Chamber Studio with mentorship from Simon Roland-Jones. Following the devastation the Coronavirus crisis caused in care homes, the quartet have become a member of SoundUp Arts, an organisation that specialises in developing programmes for people with dementia.
St Anne’s Church is a fitting venue since its peal of bells was given by the parish’s most famous resident, the enormously wealthy, Baroness Angela Burdett-Coutts. This remarkable lady and philanthropist’s home was Holly Lodge.
