HIGHGATE FESTIVAL 2026

WHAT’S ON DURING THE FESTIVAL

This year’s festival highlights:
A celebration of the music and life of George Michael, ten years after his death, with a Community Sing-a-long in Pond Square on Saturday 20^th at 6pm.
Special screening of activist documentary, Power Station, a Highgate Newtown Community Centre Open Day and events commemorating The Lost Girls of Highgate Cemetery and the Highgate plague pit.
As part of the music programme, Bafta-winning local composer Vince Pope is holding a Listening Party at L’Acoustic’s Studio on Southwood Lane.
The Red Hedgehog has its usual world-renowned line-up of musicians as well as an open call for locals to perform in the Anything Goes Community Cabaret.
The Boogaloo presents Spraytan, The Neckbreakers and Tempomental.

We also have: yoga, jazz, Highgate on Film, Coleridge and Karl Marx, Pond Square music on Sundays at 5pm, Harry Meacher, art exhibitions, Will Hutton, Nell Frizzell, Klezmer, Take Twenty Choir, our village brocante and walks about Highgate’s Jewish History and the geology of Waterlow Park.

The Highgate Festival is eight years old this year and celebrates everything we love about Highgate – our community, culture and history. Highlights include:

Friday 27: Local favourites The Archway Lightnin’ Mountain Boys perform in Pond Square
Saturday 28: She Wrote the Songs – An amazing evening celebrating women composers from Georgian London to Billy Eilish with Patricia Hammond and friends (7:30pm, St Michael’s Church)
Saturday 28: a day of events celebrating Jacksons Lane’s 50^th anniversary
ALL WEEK: An amazing programme of world-renowned musicians and artists at The Red Hedgehog – check out She’Koyokh Quartet on 25 Wednesday

As well as our usual mix of events, exhibitions and walks we have a menopause exhibition at the BOTH Gallery on Archway Road, a celebration of George Eliot at Highgate Cemetery, a Harington Scheme quiz and afternoon tea fundraiser and a Festival sing-a-long special of SHOUT! Upstairs at the Gatehouse.
