As part of this year’s Highgate Festival, Blacktooth Productions present Highgate Histories at Lauderdale House on 23 June.
Blacktooth specialise in literary readings washed down with rollicking anecdotes and live music. For one night only they present an offbeat celebration of an area known for its vivid history and illustrious residents. The programme includes pieces by Dickens and Marvell, along with tales of Highgate’s Great, Good (and not so good), from Coleridge to Graham Chapman, and episodes from the area’s occasionally murky past.
Audience reactions to recent Blacktooth shows
“What a tour de force! Amazing linking together of disparate historical people and events to make a charming, entertaining performance–and a great history lesson. I am beyond gob smacked at your talent. Thanks for a great evening–and congratulations.”
“Blacktooth put on splendid, well produced and thought provoking quirky events. Well worth supporting this local group of troubadours and story tellers!”
